FROZEN TUNDRA
Frozen Tundra is a study in contrast—an imposing polar bear emerging from a translucent, ice-like form. The sculpture is built from my proprietary structural composite and meticulously hand-finished through many layers of colour, texture, and patina. Blue mica dust suspended within the epoxy gives the base its subtle depth and icy character, while layered silica glass creates the crystalline surface and frozen appearance. The bear is not depicted in motion, but in a suspended state—caught between emergence and dissolution—inviting the viewer to reflect on the quiet power and vulnerability inherent in the natural world.
